Plan a realistic first week

Give movement, food and rest a place in your calendar without filling every gap.

Start with your existing commitments

Mark work, caring responsibilities, travel and sleep opportunities before adding workouts. Look for a reliable opening. A plan that needs an unusually quiet week is difficult to repeat. Include the time needed to get there, change and get home.

Use three anchors

Try one movement appointment, one simple meal you can repeat and one evening with a clear stopping time. These are planning examples, not a complete fitness programme. If you are inactive, begin at a manageable level and build gradually.

  • Choose an activity you can access and enjoy.
  • List the ingredients for your repeat meal.
  • Leave an alternative slot or a smaller option for a disrupted day.

A common mistake

Treating a missed slot as a reason to squeeze every planned session into the weekend.

Try this next

Add one realistic movement appointment to your calendar, including travel and changing time.
