Hydration for an ordinary day

Make drinks accessible and adjust for your day, activity and environment.

Create convenient opportunities

Keep a drink where you spend time, have something to drink with meals, and think ahead before travel or activity. Water is a practical everyday choice. Milk and some other drinks can also contribute fluid; you do not need a branded hydration product for every ordinary day.

Notice changing needs

Heat, activity and illness can change how much fluid you need. Thirst and urine colour can offer rough clues, but neither gives an exact personalised target. Do not force large amounts just to reach an app goal. Follow clinical advice if you have a condition that requires fluid restriction.

  • Refill a reusable bottle or keep a glass nearby.
  • Plan access to drinking water on a warm or active day.
  • Seek advice for persistent dehydration symptoms or difficulty keeping fluids down.

A common mistake

Treating a single litres-per-day number as correct for everyone in every situation.

Try this next

Choose one place in your normal routine where having a drink available would help.
